In Finland, a child starts his primary schooling in grade 1 at 7 years of his age. Then you might be questioning yourself what they do until 7? The answer to this question is simple. They play, dance, sing and most of this they live their life. At young age, instead of educating their brain, the parents educate their heart. They are taught manner, ethics, behaviours in the early age of their life. It is found that at they age of 6-7, a student mind is well set for learning. Indeed education starts from home.

3. Less time, more learning in school:

Your brain has to relax every time. If you constantly work and work, you stop learning and creating new things. It is to be noted that Finland has the shortest days and shortest school years in the entire western schools. A toddler generally spends 20 hours per week in school at grade 1. This time duration of schooling increases as a child grades up in academics. Time increases as grade increases. The students spend so less time in schools. Instead they spend their precious time being together with friends, family, playing sports, dancing and singing around. Education in Finland is not just restricted to school, but is just more than that.

4. Less homework:

Students in Finland spend very less time, generally around 20 to 30 minutes, in doing their home works and assignments. Finnish government always tells that this was their most important step in strengthening their education system. Home works are so rare in Finland that the students there, even don’t know the meaning of it. Home works are classy trends in the education system of various countries which hampers the growth of their children.

5. Quality teachers and their teaching:

The importance of teacher increases when it comes to building the nation by strengthening the education system. Teachers are like pillar guiding and motivating the students to study smart and not just hard. Teaching is the most sought-after career in Finland. Teaching is the 1st preferred choice of the aspirants. Highly proficient teacher courses and degrees are made available for the teacher to master their skills. Even a master’s degree is must for teacher to teacher in a Finnish school. The ratio of number of students to teacher is also quite less which leads to more concentration on students by the teacher. This ratio is around 15-20 at all the schools in Finland.
